AFTER THE FACT: GHANA

During my 3-week stay in Ghana in March 2012, a problem with WordPress prevented me from blogging. Now that I’ve returned to the US and had time to research the issue, it turns out the cause of the problem was a plugin. Simply deactivating it resurrected the blog. So I will now do some short “post-blogs” on the trip.

First off is Cape Three Points, the southernmost tip of Ghana named for its three peninsulas that project into the Atlantic Ocean. It’s a wildly beautiful place and I’m glad it’s part of the name of my next novel Murder at Cape Three Points. Here’s just a sample of one of the many photos I took:

There are more photos like this here. Some of you may have already seen them in a previous email I sent, but they may be well worth looking at again.

About 6 km east of Cape Three Points is Ezile Bay, a B&B owned by French couple Danielle and Olivier Funfschilling. It is sublimely peaceful and soothing. If you want a little adventure you can go surfing or hiking.

Ezile Bay Fishermen. It is taboo for a woman to go fishing in a canoe. It's also taboo to fish on a Tuesday

That’s all for now. Next blog: Takoradi, my favorite city, and how it is changing with the new oil industry of Ghana.
